I always think of the old Andre’ Agassi Sprite commercial when I hear that loathsome phrase, “Image is Everything.” At Texas Hospice, we invest our resources in providing great care. Everything else that is important should then fall into place.
But Texas Hospice is uniquely situated because I, the owner, am a Fort Worth native (almost, I grew up here beginning in 2nd grade), and a local family physician. My family and I know hundreds, perhaps thousands of folks in our community. I suspect my friends that do know I own a hospice agency have a “mom and pop” image about us.
I have considered directing some significant dollars toward correcting that image. Perhaps a billboard on I-30 and Camp Bowie with our nice logo, and pictures of several of our wonderful staff would help achieve our goal.
Most people who do know about us have never seen our beautiful office in the cultural district. They don’t know that our nurses drive brand-new Toyota’s with our logo imprinted on the sides. Or that we employ:
- Seven full-time nurses
- Five home health aids
- Three office staff
- One Chaplain
- One Social Worker
- One marketer
- Three physicians (two part-time)
One of our physicians is hospice-certified. Our adminstrator has 15 years experience in senior-care management.
Well, I may consider putting up that billboard. We will continue to stretch the limits of excellence in hospice care.

What about having a Clinical Consultant Pharmacist? One who is board certified in Geriatric medication.
Camille,
Can I ask you how you heard about my blog and how often you read it?
